Kelleys Island Historical Preservation Corporation

Bill and Fern Gorchester created the Kelleys Island Historical Preservation Corporation in 2008. It is a 501c3, not for profit  company. Board members include Bob Schwartz, Dave and Greg Lawrence. Dave and Greg are decedents of August Schaedler.

The corporation is devoted to the preserve history of the wine industry on Kelleys Island. This includes the planting, growing, harvesting and processing grapes to make wine. They have rentavated the August Schaedler Winery, located on the southeast shore of the island on East Lakeshore Drive, at the entrance of Southhaven subdevelopment.
